about matthew

Matthew is a New York-based theatre producer and entrepreneur, currently serving as the executive assistant to Tony Award-winning and Emmy-nominated actor, writer, and director BD Wong.​

​

His work with BD spans film, television, and theatre, including notable projects such as Judy Gold’s Yes I Can Say That and the stage adaptation of Mr. Holland’s Opus, based on the acclaimed 1995 film. In addition to his work with BD, Matthew collaborates with Jason Turchin on The Broadway Investor's Club, contributing to several Broadway productions, including but not limited to The Outsiders, Sunset Blvd, Gypsy, Operation Mincemeat, and Smash, to name a few.

Matthew is thrilled to be co-producing the highly anticipated Broadway productions of Dead Outlaw, starring Andrew Durand, at the Longacre Theatre, and Othello, starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, at the Barrymore Theatre. His previous co-producing credits include Ingrid Michaelson’s adaptation of The Notebook and the beloved 1975 classic, The Wiz.

Previously, Matthew was an associate producer for three years under Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Cody Lassen. Their longstanding collaboration includes a diverse array of productions, such as Paula Vogel’s How I Learned to Drive, Empire Records the Musical, Rutka the Musical, Alex Wyse’s Picking Up Speed, The 12, Hyprov: Improv Under Hypnosis, Invincible, A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet, and films like Summoning Sylvia and How to Get Clicks.

Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Business from Chapman University. He is an active member of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, as well as a member The Broadway League, The Off-Broadway League, and the National Alliance for Musical Theatre.
